IIS 7.5 Serving up ASP.NET 4 Pages Despite App Pool Settings

I have a really weird problem and I haven't been able to find any info from anyone else. I've run out of things that I know to try... I also have no idea what changed on this machine to cause this. We have an old application pool that is set to run .NET Framework v2.0, Managed Pipeline is Classic, and everything else is default. We have a second application pool that is, from what I can see, configured in the exact same way as the former. I have even looked through the applicationHost.xml file. When applications are assigned to the first pool, we're receiving a yellow screen errors and, at the bottom, it says Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.272. Switching to the other application pool returns the correct 2.0 headers. Is there some magic hidden setting somewhere that might be hijacking the configuration of the application pool? I've checked everywhere I know, but hopefully someone will have some idea.
