I have try upgrade our browser into IE 8 with classic Asp Web, but unfortunately there are many function not work here, are there any suggestion to make it work perfect like IE6?

Hi, using Windows Server 2012 and IIS 8
Trying to use forums authentication, but when i go to switch it on it says "This feature has been locked and is read only"
Not sure how to solve it. Only happens in sub folders of the WWWROOT directory.#
How can I resolve this?? spent hours googling it and dont quite understand the IIS config file system

Sql Server Express 2008 Failed to install correctly while attempting to install Visual Web Developer 2010 on Windows 8
I don't have much information to go off of here, but I am attempting to install Visual Web Developer 2010 on a new PC and it is failing on the SQL Server Express 2008 pre requisite. Anyone who has any trouble shooting suggestions or steps? That would be greatly appreciated.

IIS Smooth streaming on Roku?
Hello, I'm developing a channel on roku and our content is encoded IIS smooth streaming on a IIS7 server. Do i need the Smooth Streaming Client Porting Kit to do this? I saw a posting about a realease for roku working with smooth streaming, this would be helpful not to have to re-encode movies to mp4, to be able to be played on roku.

microsoft VBScript runtime error "800a000d" Type mismatch
Hi All,
Need your help here.
I am currently try to migrate from IIS 5 to IIS 7.5,
Environment setting
IIS 7.5 on windows 2008R2
Application Server on windows 2000
One issue I encountered is the application throwing microsoft VBScript runtime error "800a000d" Type mismatch when it is calling a dcom object function that is expecting String but the classic asp is passing number
Example:
MyAge=1010101
myobject.ShowMyAge(MyAge)
In ShowMySession is expecting String but because of MyAge is numeric it throw the errors microsoft VBScript runtime error "800a000d" Type mismatch .
In IIS 5.0 this is not happening, any idea how to solve the issue beside forcing the value to string e.g cstr(MyAge)

Shutdown Publishing Point
Hi,
Is it possible to shut down the publishing point after live broadcast is over? This has to be done from outside of the server environment.
According to this post, http://blogs.iis.net/samzhang/archive/2010/11/01/live-smooth-streaming-publishing-point-advanced-settings.aspx, I should be able to shutdown the publishing point to idle state.
Any suggestion?

configuring iis 7.x using appcommand
Hi we have few coldfusion applications running in IIS 7.x web server. While setting up the sites we have to configure few virtual paths, error pages, xframe options in response headers, cookie paramaters configurations using url rewrite module. We are planning to use appcommand scripts to configure these web sites. Please let us know whether we can use appcommand for configuring the error handler pages, creating/managing innound or outbound rules in URLRewrite module. As part of our reserach we could not get more information except creating/managing sites and crating/managing virtual directories. Any help in this regard is highely appreciated.

Classic ASP C# COM VBScript runtime error: Invalid procedure call or argument
Hi Classic ASP Experts,
Basically, I am new to Classic ASP and VBScript, and got this "VBScript runtime error: Invalid procedure call or argument", while trying to pass an argument of complex type to the COM method (vide screenshot below). While the server object is getting created and the string passed to the COM method, any attempt to pass an argument of complex type goes in vain.
Please help.

Web Farm Framework unable to add secondary servers

I have a strange problem and tried several thing and can’t solve this issue.
Situation is like this:
3 Virtual servers with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x64
Controller Server (new install) Server1
- IIS 7.5
- Microsoft Web Deploy 2.0
- Microsoft Web Platform Installer 3.0
- Microsoft Web Farm Framework 2.2
Adding the primary server (Server2) with existing web sites is no problem, when I try to add the Secondary server (Server3) I’m getting the follwing errors

When I add SERVER3 first as the primary server I get the same errors on SERVER2
I tried,
- creating a new farm on SERVER1, same problem.
- I installed 2 new web server with no sites on them (SERVER4 en SERVER5) and added them to the farm. Got the same errors so I assumed there is something wrong with the controller server.
- I installed the Web Frame Work on SERVER4 and added SERVER2 as the primary and SERVER5 as secondary, again same problem.
Hope someone can help me out, it's driving me crazy.

IIS setup with sub domain ssl certificates
Hi, I have 2 sub domains and bought two ssl certificates, one per sub domain as follows: site1.mydomain.com (ssl:site1.mydomain.com) and site2.mydomain.com (ssl:site2.mydomain.com) I need to bind the 2 sub domains to port 443 and each to its own ssl certificate.
I have been struggling for sometime now to get this achieved. I understand that i wont be able to use the gui in iis 7 to do this and will need to use cmd but i just cant get it to work. I also want to enforce https for both sites. Can someone please give
me step by step directions with commands to accomplish this because i have been going around in circles with no success?? Really apreciate your help in advance. Thanks

Can't get phpMyAdmin to work on Server 2008 R2
I just installed Windows Server 2008 R2 and got IIS fully installed. I installed the following:

- <div mce_keep="true">phpMyAdmin 3.2.3</div>
I created the phpMyAdmin config.inc.php as described on my blog (which I've used on several occasions):

I am able to navigate to my phpmyadmin URL and I get the login page. However, after waiting about 30 seconds, the following page is displayed:
